Ethical Earth is a home based business founded in February 2015 by Andre and Alta Jooste. Realising a need for more Vegan protein options, Chef Alta, a self taught experienced chef, wanted to distribute her own Seitan recipes which she designed particularly for her and Andre to aid them during their transgression to Veganism. Her Seitan recipes focus on a local South African Braai Cuisine as well as other delectable proteins and the range is constantly growing. With the aim at the working class citizen, all the products are pre-cooked and basted/marinated and can be oven baked, pan fried or put on the braai for as little as 5 to 10 minutes promising a healthy protein rich, low fat, flavourful meal with very little effort.
There is no factory or warehouse or line of workers. Each and every Ethical Earth product is made by Chef Alta herself. Therefore this could be considered a speciality product of sorts. Products are made to order, ensuring freshness and quality. There is a waiting list at times, of course, but quality is worth waiting for! Each Ethical Earth product delivers a promise of hearty food made with love and cruelty free care from the warmth of a vegan family kitchen.
Although Ethical Earth is based in Bloemfontein, Free State, a courier option is available at a reasonable fee to transport frozen and dehydrated products to almost any destination in South Africa. It’s as simple as placing your order online and receiving your goods at your door.
